Nick Compton’s website design

Designing Nick Compton’s photography website has been an incredibly fulfilling journey. From conceptual design to the final execution and delivery, I poured my heart into every aspect of the project, handling all the UI and UX work with care and dedication.

Design process

  1. Discover & vision alignment

The process began with deep, in-person conversations with Nick to understand his artistic vision and the narrative behind his photography. This stage focused on uncovering his goals, audience, and the emotional tone he wanted the website to convey.

2. Collaborative Exploration

Together, we explored a range of design directions. Through open dialogue and creative brainstorming, we translated his ideas into early visual concepts. This collaborative energy helped shape a direction that felt personal and expressive.

3. Concept Development & Iteration

Several design concepts were refined and reworked through an iterative process. We paid careful attention to balance aesthetics with function, ensuring the design not only reflected Nick’s unique style but also showcased his work with clarity and purpose.

4. Storytelling Through Design

The design choices, from layout to typography to image curation, were all crafted to support the story Nick wanted to tell. The goal was to let his photography speak, supported by a minimalist and elegant interface.

5. Finalize & launch

Once the design felt aligned with Nick’s vision, we finalized the details and prepared for launch. The result is a website that feels authentic to his creative voice and serves as a powerful platform for his first public showcase.
